This rifle kit, can it get shipped to MD?
Mr goku on Dec 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is no reason a Medical Doctor should not be able to own this rifle ... most have very much money to spend.
Hey what is up with the O.D. hand guards they look larger in diameter than standard medium length 2 piece drop ins. Are these a special type? Thanks!
Momar Kadaffy on Nov 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They are standard. The camera adds ten pounds!
In the drop down menu, this is described as having a .223 chamber; in fact it is your one and only 223 chambered kit. In the detail about this kit, I see the description 5.56. Please comment?
ed e on Dec 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The barrel is stamped 5.56 NATO.
For people that received this but, was the bolt marked MPI/HPT?
Stuntmanmike on Jan 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The Bolt is stamped MP with a teeny tiny circular mark center below the MP.
How long is the handguard on this kit?
Renegade88 on Dec 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Say's Mid length.
Is this kit a complete rifle?
Steven B on Jun 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This has everything you need to build it, except the stripped lower receiver. That’s all you’d need to purchase to make this a fully operational rifle.
what caliber of ammunition would I purchase for this rifle?
MediaMan812 on Jun 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you can’t figure that out on your own, you shouldn’t be buying this.
Will the standard AR-15 Lower receiver work for this particular model?
Craigory t on Dec 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely!
What else is needed to make this a complete build?
Josh D on Nov 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: A lower receiver. And at least a flip-up rear sight and a magazine...
Is this barrel 4150 steel?
George P on Jun 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Chrome Moly barrel steel
the carbines are listed as M4 however the mid lengths are not. Difference?
stanley b on May 31, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A military spec M4 carbine uses a carbine-length gas system. This rifle has a mid-length gas system. The mid-length has a longer gas tube, hand guard, and sight radius. Some shooters prefer a mid length for more reliable feeding, lower gas temps at the chamber, and softer recoil impulse. I am one of those people. But there is equally as many folks that prefer a carbine length gas system. In all practicality it’s just a matter of aesthetics and personal preference for most casual shooters.
Can this ship to California?
David H on Apr 29, 2019
Just completed my first build of this od green 16” rifle, or at least I thought. I seem to have one single left over brass detent! My question is whether it’s a spare or if I made a mistake and didn’t install it? Any input?
ryan m on Sep 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My kit came without any spare parts: detents came in two sizes, and all had associated springs.
I suppose it's possible that, when they put together your kit, that an extra part got included.
Check function of all detented-parts (selector lever, takedown pin retaining detents, and buffer retaining detent). If they are all present, then maybe you do have an extra.
Does this have to be shipped to a FFL holder? Or can it be shipped to a home?
JoeSchmo on Sep 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello,

Since this is not a serialized item, it can be shipped to your home.

Best Regards,
PSA Customer Service

Round or triangle handguard cap?
Michael on Jan 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It is round.
can the hand guard be changed to 15 inch ?
kenneth on May 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: 15" handguards??? There's no such thing as 15" handguards for this rifle's setup. 'Rifle length' handguards are only 12". You can't be asking about a free-float handguard kit considering all the changes you'd have to make... There are already tons of free-float kits available.
Anyone know the actual length of the hanguards?..I know they are midlength I'm looking for actual length...thanks in adavance

BEST ANSWER: Why???
After buying the kit all I need to buy is a striped lower and after I assemble everything I will have a fully functional rifle?
John H on May 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Are you asking us or telling us?
Is there anything missing that I have to buy to add? Rep on the phone said I needed a few things like stripped lower 1728?
ALISSA J on Mar 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Nothing is missing. But you will need pretty much all the things the rep on the phone told you.
You better go watch some videos and read some how-to articles before you buy.
Just a stripped lower receiver right..does need a complete lower receiver? I know magazine and also rear sight is need as well.
Aaron C on Jan 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: To have complete working AR-15 in addition to this kit you will need: a lower receiver, Rear sight and a magazine. (This Kit includes all the inner parts of the lower, Trigger, magazine release etc.)
With this fit onto my del-ton ar15 lower?
Ronald on Dec 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If it is a mil-spec ar-15 lower, then yes.
If I were to purchase this and want to switch it to 300 blackout, would I be able to switch out the barrel like a normal AR 15 build?
Jared A on Nov 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is a "Standard" 5.56 AR-15 upper. You would need a midlength gas ported 300 blackout barrel if you wanted to use the included gas system.
Is this missing anything? Is this the complete upper receiver and lower receiver? Don’t I need the lower end of the receiver to build it? Where can I find it?

Do some of these poeple think before they ask some of these questions? Then they wonder why the gun laws are the way they are. OMG

Economical and well made
Had a Spike’s Tactical lower sitting in the safe. When I saw a complete mid-length upper with the lower kit for $300 I had to try it out. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the parts. After assembly I got it zeroed and couldn’t be happier. This will probably become my truck gun. Well worth the investment. Thanks PSA for keeping America tactical.

Looks great
Just got mine in. Everything looks great. Just waiting for my NOBETO lower to arrive.
September 24, 2019
Love it!
Lower receiver kit came neatly organized in bags for each section of your lower, included extra rear takedown springs and detent pin in case you send one flying (I did!) All parts are mil-spec and easy to install!

The upper fit seamlessly onto my Anderson AM15 lower. Yes, this mid-length upper WILL fit a bayonet snugly!

Flawless operating kit
One of the best values on the market. Couldn’t be happier. Delivery time was 7 days. As soon as my brother saw it he ordered one that day. Just got back from the range. Fed and ejected perfectly. Empty brass was in one pile, not scattered everywhere. PSA just made a long time customer in me. Thanks for a great product
Target after sighting in.

Super nice 223
Super nice gun looks great. Shoots really good. The front sights are a pain to take off but if you have a jig to take them off they are easy

First mid length and PSA kit
This is an awesome kit for the money, got it in and put it on an Anderson lower a cheap A2 iron and a UTG red dot. Runs great a little less felt recoil than the carbine. All in all I suggest any of the rifle kits for a first time buyer and builder or someone who wants another at a really good price.
