Barrel: A proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium made by FN that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons.   The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable.  In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability.  Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1/7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a carbine-length gas system.  This M4A1 barrel is High Pressure tested, and Magnetic Particle inspected, to ensure quality and dependability, and is finished off with a 13.5" PSA Lightweight M-Lok free float handguard, low profile gas block and A2 flash hider.

Upper: 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is made to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized black for durability.  These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer.

Is this barrel heavy under the rail? Or is it just an m4 style barrel?
Tom Swartz on Feb 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I think M4A1 barrels are HBARs with M203 cuts. Looking at the picture closely that seems to be the case.

Can I switch out the rail for a BCM QRF? And are these stamped FN?
Brendan F on May 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You can as it is not pinned and welded. You will need to strip the barrel to change out the barrel nut for the proper style. Then reassemble.
Where would I find the FN stamp?

Great upper, ran flawless and accurate even with a 20 dollar red dot from Amazon. Zeroesd at 50yrds
Extremely happy with my build. First build and first time at the range today. After zeroing in my cheap 20 dollar red dot from Amazon I'm all on the target. Definitely need or want to grab an eotech.

These are superb barrels and uppers
Very pleased with the M4A1 profile barrel and PSA's quality build with a fantastic lightweight rail. Good luck finding a better price on a CHF upper.

Fully met my expectations. Good practical precision.
Fit and finish is good. I bought it specifically for the M4A1 style barrel which is heavier under hand guard and provides additional stiffness. There are not M203 cuts under the hand guard which I knew when I ordered it.

The hand guard is nice. It's worth noting that Mlok accessories I tried could not be located directly below the gas block due to the small diameter of the hand guard. Forward or rearward of the gas block work just fine. It's tight enough that Ergo Mlok covers have to be trimmed to fit on the bottom under the gas block. BCM plastic inserts, which I prefer, work just fine.

Mated up with the PSA lower I built. A little wiggle like most, accu wedge tightened it up. I started out with an H1 buffer and 10% heavier carbine spring. Ended up using an H3 buffer to tame it down and slow down the BCG velocity . If other examples are similar to this one I would recommend starting with an H2 buffer. As usual I double checked hardware. None were found to be loose or undertorque.

I've only shot about 100 rounds trying different ammunition and zeroing the rifle.
Function has been 100% so far using a popular name brand polymer magazine.

As far as precision I have been satisfied so far. 2 stage trigger and 8X scope I have been able to achieve 1.2 MOA using Fiocci 55 grain FMJ at 100 yards. Not bad for 30 cent ammo. Hornady 55gr Vmax provided similar results. Haven't made time to try 69 or 77 grain ammo at 100 yards yet. For what is worth, 69 grain performed better at 50 yards compared to the 77 grain I tried. Federal LC 855 and 193 weren't as precise as the 223 ammo I tried.

In summary, I'm happy with the purchase. I didn't expect it to be a highly tuned race gun or precision rifle. For the price it's a great deal and a good practical shooter from which I expect years of service.
